Carl Linn develops Nox-Crete Form Coating And Deactivator - the world’s first chemically active form release agent and first chemically active maintenance coating.
1959 The Federal Highway Administration approves Nox-Crete Form Coating for use on interstate bridges built as part of the Federal-Aid
Highway Act of 1956. 1963 The Perfect Form And Concrete Sprayer is introduced. The design is unique among handheld sprayers and virtually eliminates clogged spray tips while also providing uniform coverage rates.
1975 Silcoseal 100, a predecessor to Silcoseal 77, becomes the world’s first chemically active bondbreaker for tilt-up construction. 1984 A unique and greatly improved second generation water repellent silane sealer is patented under the Stifel name.
1989 Silcoseal 97E and Aqua-Nox F and P are developed and are the world’s first water based, chemically active tilt-up bondbreaker and form release agents. Nox-Crete leads the industry in development of water based solutions in answer to increasing environmental and federal agency requirements. 1999
Silcoseal 2000C and 2000F are introduced and quickly become the top-selling tilt-up cure and bondbreakers. 2004 Duro-Polish floor polish is selected the Most Innovative Product in its category by both the attendees and the judges at the World of Concrete.
2006 Nox-Crete's continued innovation and advancement in tilt-up bondbreaker performance lead to the introduction of Silcoseal Select, a premier, state-of-the-art cure and bondbreaker formulation.
2007
Duro-Polish Plus is developed. This innovative product is an original in the marketplace and provides contractors and owners with economical stain protection for concrete floors combined with immediate gloss and slip resistance.

Our HistoryIt was as a chemist for the Omaha, Nebraska-based United Petroleum Corp. that Carl Linn first realized that concrete contractors were using United’s oil and grease compounds to prevent fresh concrete from bonding to forms. The results were less than satisfactory. The resulting concrete was discolored and unpaintable. The forms were under attack from the harsh environment of fresh concrete and performed poorly after just a few pours. This led him to develop a chemical solution to the problem. Nox-Crete Form Coating form release agent was released to the market in 1956 along with Nox-Crete’s Deactivator maintenance coating. Both were the world’s first chemically active solutions to age-old problems experienced by concrete contractors. With Nox-Crete Form Coating, contractors had concrete that looked better and wood forms that lasted longer. With Deactivator, concrete buildup could be safely and easily removed from tools and equipment. Into The Future
Nox-Crete continues to manufacture the original Nox-Crete Form Coating and Deactivator. But, the innovation didn’t stop there. By continually looking at the challenges experienced by concrete contractors, Nox-Crete has developed a full line of construction chemicals that offer solutions to today’s concrete problems. It is our unique solutions, manufactured with quality, distributed worldwide and backed by a technical support staff that knows concrete construction, that has made Nox-Crete one of the most trusted names in the industry. A job worth doing well is worth Nox-Crete. |
